The fully equipped salon offers a relaxing environment and is managed by experienced staff. Salon sessions take place every Thursday to give students a real working experience with paying clients

“I studied Hair & Beauty last year at St Anne’s and I absolutely loved it. The staff were so supportive throughout my studies. The salon is fantastic and I loved the fact I was dealing with real clients in a working salon. I am currently a hair stylist and recently styled for a Vogue photo shoot. St Anne’s helped me unlock my dream career.” Hair stylist, Twilight Salon.

Last summer, the Sixth Form opened a  new hospitality and catering facility and a highly experienced industry professional to lead our new course. The new facilities create a professional working environment so students can get ‘real life’ experience of working in a working kitchen, preparing them for the world of work.

“The teachers are really supportive in Sixth Form. I know I will achieve here." N  Ramsey, Hospitality and Catering student.

Last year our students attended the following trips; Taize, Chester Zoo, Media City event, Buxton University Campus, criminology conferences, bowling, laser quest, and theatre shows to name but a few and we have lots more planned for next year.

We also organise and take part in lots of fund raising and charity events; last year to raise funds for Taize we held a Disney themed fun day, as well as a homeless experience sleep out to raise money for The Bridges Christmas meal project.

Sixth Form Faith:

St Anne’s Academy is a Church of England Academy and as a Sixth Form we explore faith and celebrate Christianity throughout the year. Our students are expected to attend a weekly faith programme which looks to question, explore and think about the world around them, we respect all religions and encourage all to participate. We also have an Alpha group that Sixth Formers are welcome to attend where they can discuss God further in an informal setting with their peers and Christian leaders.

"I really enjoy Alpha, I love debating and I am finding it really interesting to challenge others and have my own view point challenged." Kelly Holmes, year 13 student.

We are a supportive Sixth Form who strive to aid your success in any way we can. We offer one to one tutorial sessions, academic guidance, UCAS and financial advice and counselling sessions. For more information please contact: 0161 643 2643
